It has been an extremely long journey for the RZEREVO. From our first real challenge for the podium at Sepang International Circuit back 2013 during the Zerotohundred Time To Attack event, up till the recent Lynlex and Traction Circle Club event held last October! We have always tried our best to make our car faster and to bring down our lap times with all the experience we have gained over the years! We must say, we have learnt so much in this time frame and made many good friends along the way!
Over years of constant development, we have faced a ton of mechanical issues from gearbox/shifter problems to unexpected delays/wrong parts and even to the small bits like spark plugs. It has been challenging trying to get our car to run such lap times with minimal issues despite trying many different products! Being a Singaporean road registered vehicle, we had to go for bi-yearly/yearly inspection, which meant everything needs to be reverted to a road legal state; and that’s never good for the setup.
After everything, Some might say it’s not worth it or money can buy everything. As a team, we disagree.
We did wish it was that easy to be chasing the kind of lap times we are aiming for but frankly speaking, what allows us to run these lap times and carry on with the development of Team RZER is passion. A truck load of it! Teamwork has been really important with running the car, and events that we plan to organise. The main driving force of our team is our dreams! For those out there who is daring enough to dream big, from all of us here at Team RZER we say go forth and chase it! It hasn’t been all smooth sailing and good times, but it has been absolutely worth it!
We have pushed our car to the boundaries of what we feel our road registered car can do at Sepang International Circuit. An official laptime of 2.10.968 on Semi Slick Tires during TCC’s Judgement Day.
World Time Attack Challenge held at Sydney Motorsports Park @ Eastern Creek, Sydney has been a dream for Bert ever since he started attending Time Attack events and has always wanted to run the RZEREVO there. This is clearly driven by his hunger for a higher goal every single time! In 2020 we hope this dream will come true, hence the decision to swap everything to a car that we can build to be more competitive at SMSP. It was not an easy decision to make, the amount of financials, planning and logistics is honestly insane.
Well don’t fret, The RZEREVO V1, our road registered car, will be retired from time attack days and live it’s life on the streets, where it started and where it belongs! But with a slightly different setup,
The RZEREVO V2 we are building will be more track orientated! It will be a proper build for a track car which we hope can be competitive at an international stage even with our lack of experience at the international level. With less weight and more power, we are confident of a faster lap time at SIC. We’d love to go insane for our new build but for privateers like ourselves, designing and fabrication for a track vehicle, along with all that mouth watering mods would cost way too much due to the lack of expertise in Singapore.
I’m proud to have been a part of the journey, of the #RZEREVO V1. Edwin, Brandon, thank you so much for all the help you two have given over the years.
Also to all the team RZER members who were willing to go out of their comfort zone to help us in what small way possible, thank you.
And last but not least, to all our supporters and friends, we always relied on you guys for your support and love! Do carry on following us on this amazing journey and support us in our future endeavors; a huge thank you. And also, a big shout-out to the guys at ST Powered, you guys made it all possible with the RZEREVO V1!

During our last outing with the RZEREVO V1 on the 18th Oct 2019 at the Lynlex TD, where we also collaborated with our friend Alex @ Lynlex for the first ever RZER Challenge. Would like to credit Meccanico and Ian for some of the following pictures taken during the Lynlex trackday, thanks!

We were planning to finally dip into the 2.0x timing at Sepang Circuit for our RZEREVO. But alas, we had some misfiring and spent most of our time troubleshooting and rectifying the problem. We found a broken tip on one of the spark plugs and our injectors were not working properly. So we were unable to get a good run in.

We wanted to try one last time during the TCC trackday after working through the night and sending the injectors to KL for cleaning, but the next day, it ended up raining. It was wet and we decided there was no point in going for a hot-lap. We were extremely confident to drop our timing for this car by a couple of seconds, but decided that there wasn’t enough time if we want to plan for 2020. We just couldn’t fit it into our schedule to attempt another trip to Sepang.
We had a lot of fun with the Evo X though! Apologies to some of you who were hoping to see us post an even faster timing at Sepang with our RZEREVO, but sometimes that’s motorsports. Even though we try to keep the RZEREVO in tip-top condition, sometimes, it decides to throw a mild tantrum.
I hope you guys enjoyed the read and the photos we took, hope to see you all soon again at SIC.

Moving forward, for 2020 we have plans to take part in World Time Attack Challenge. As mentioned before, we have purchased a used Evo 9 from Japan for our off road track car. Although some of you would know there were some teething issues previously, as this is the first time we are bringing in an off road car to Singapore, we are glad to announce, our RZEREVO V2 has started on it’s transformation. Slowly but surely, we are getting things done. We will try to rush for the car to be ready for testing at Sepang on the 2nd and 3rd quarter of 2020. Please follow us and we’ll try to update the progress of the car whenever we can. Keep it tight guys, we’ll see you on the track!
